Q: What is NERLEEA
A: NERLEEA is the shortened name for the Northeast Regional Law Enforcement Educational Association, Inc.  NERLEEA is a Cadet association for Police Explorers and Police Cadets in the Northeast to form a bond with each other while attending the many events throughout the year.  The staff that conduct the various events are volunteers and donate their time for the betterment of the youth involved.  Many Advisors are former Cadets/Explorers who have come up through the programs and who want to give back to help the "Next Generation" of youth.


Q: When was NERLEEA formed?
A: NERLEEA was formed in 2006 after years of discussion amongst advisors from various posts that there was a lack of events and a lack of contacts for the many posts throughout New England and New York.


Q: Is NERLEEA affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America (BSA)
A: NO, NERLEEA is not affiliated the the Boy Scouts of America in ANY way. It is its own seperate organization formed by volunteer leaders from various Cadet Programs throughout the Northeast.  (Disclaimer: The Boy Scouts of America, BSA and their logos are all trademarked, copyrighted and protected under applicable laws.)


Q: Who can join NERLEEA?
A: Any member of an active post associtated with NERLEEA can join the association.  Individuals are not permitted unless they are direct volunteer board members with NERLEEA or are registered members of a post. Background checks are required through their respective agencies.
