The Basic and Advanced Academies are typically the first 2 years a cadet will attend. After they complete these 2 Academies then they may enter into the Field Training Academy. This academy is a Mock PD where they will get practical hands on experience of what they have learned in the 2 previous years. The Field Training Academy can be repeated one time. The Career Development Academy is for the older Cadets who have either completed the earlier years or if there happens to be an older cadet in your unit they can jump into this Academy. Here they will get experience on the hiring process along with a lot of team building and other activities associated with the CSP Academy. This Academy can be described as HELL week however once you get through it you will be a much better person/candidate in the future hiring process. The Mountain Bike course is an actual Police Mountain Bike training course that real Police Officers go through, this is a physically demanding class. |
